Inside the Games of Art book you will find seven wonderful, classic games designed by the “Dean” of American games design, Sid Sackson (1920-2002). Sackson created a myriad of brilliant games, remarkable for their ingenuity and playability, including Acquire, Can’t Stop,
I’m the Boss, Bazaar, BuyWord, Sleuth, and many others.
The games included in this book were all contained in Beyond Tic Tac Toe (1975), one of several books he published in his lifetime.
The seven games in this book are designed to be played by 2, or 3, or 4 players, each wielding different-colored dry erase markers. Gryphon Games is confident that you will find each of these games educational, challenging and most of all, FUN! Each game includes a short biography of each artist; followed by short rules (less than one page in every case) with illustrations; and a full-page diagram that you use, with those dry erase markers, to play the game.
Teachers, and all others, are encouraged to copy those diagrams and use them so that many can play these games simultaneously. Here you will find games named after and reminiscent of the styles of iconic modern artists: Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee, Joan Miro, Robert and Sonia Delaunay, Jean Arp, Ferdinand Springer, and Victor Vasarely.
